It was a text-based question, so I thought you may have skipped it by accident (your answers to Chapter 3's exercises start off with the Matryoshka dolls question, which is 3.2, not 3.1). Nothing that the ‘experts’ champion saves time. It just redistributes it. You know what does save time? Good design up front. And why are we obsessed with ‘saving time’? Shouldn’t we be obseessed with ‘doing a better job’, of coming up with a ‘better outcome’. I submit that is what is wrong with our whole society. We are funkin’ focused on the wrong stuff. The defeinse rests, our Honor. <br />David Shireyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12866098658573457631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224008808345429390.post-59026852865449161632015-03-17T21:28:47.808-04:002015-03-17T21:28:47.808-04:00Huge thanks for creating an easy to use set of fun...Huge thanks for creating an easy to use set of functions!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224008808345429390.post-47623160919545212902015-01-07T14:18:56.201-05:002015-01-07T14:18:56.201-05:00Big thanks from Belgium ;)Big thanks from Belgium ;)Gilliamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09088172484098188231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224008808345429390.post-74466812759255744782014-11-14T01:33:21.377-05:002014-11-14T01:33:21.377-05:00This is awesome...This is awesome...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224008808345429390.post-1654782373775936892014-11-08T04:34:04.824-05:002014-11-08T04:34:04.824-05:00Hello Timothy, thanks for sharing.

A good example is writing a framework or object that generates cache files, system log files, inserts text database records, or sends emails (some mail servers expect the platform's EOL). If you upload your linux specific "\n" script to a windows or mac based distro you have the potential of messing things up. Similar issues with DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR and PATH_SEPARATOR. If you're writing scripts that are not going to be migrating cross-platform, then it is useless, but if you're writing shared class objects or a framework, you will eventually get bug reports related to the newline being statically defined.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224008808345429390.post-57550012135802252442014-06-09T11:26:20.079-04:002014-06-09T11:26:20.079-04:00where are the solutions?where are the solutions?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224008808345429390.post-3037032424896933302014-06-02T10:37:44.587-04:002014-06-02T10:37:44.587-04:00Im a newbie.
